960 registered bed nights

In January 2019, 960 bed nights were recorded in Central Karelia (-11.6 %), of which 440 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 12 percent from last year's January.

670 nights (-24.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 280 nights (+46.7 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Karelia out of total bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

420 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 58.8 percent were domestic, and 41.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Karelia on average 1.8 nights (-0.42) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-0.44).
