3,200 bed nights in paid accommodation (April)
Total of 3,200 bed nights (+28.8 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Central Karelia in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 28 % and non-registered 72 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 10,400 (+24.6 %). Share of registered was 29 % and non-registered 71 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Registered bed nights increased 22 percent (April)
In April 2023, 890 registered bed nights were recorded in Central Karelia (+21.6 %), of which 870 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 20 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 22 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (9.0 nights).
890 nights (+25.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6.3 nights (-79.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 2,900 registered bed nights (+14.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 191 (+91.0 %) for foreigners in Central Karelia, in total 3,100 (+17.5 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 23 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.5 percent were domestic, and 3.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Karelia on average 3.2 nights (+1.3) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-1.6).

Accommodation sales 147,000 euro (April)
Total accommodation sales in April were 147,000 euro (+36,200). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 74.6 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 37,400 euro (+8,700) and non-registered sales 110,000 euro (+27,500).
Total January-April sales were 471,000 euro and they increased 103,000 euro from the previous year.
