Registered bed nights increased 31 percent

In December 2021, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (+30.9 %), of which 5,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 630 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 24 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 144 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 31 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Austria (100 nights).

3,200 nights (+71.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,700 nights (+2.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 119,000 registered bed nights (+14.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,500 (+42.2 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 128,000 (+16.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+109.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+44.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 593,000 nights (+823.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

3,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 58 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.3 percent were domestic, and 3.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.5 nights (-0.4) and foreigners 4.8 nights (+0.83).

Registered accommodation sales in December were 407,000 euro (+118,000).

Registered January-December sales were 6.8 million euro and they increased 735,000 euro from the previous year.
