6,300 registered bed nights

In December 2019, 6,300 bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (-5.3 %), of which 5,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 870 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased five percent and foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, bed nights decreased five percent from last year's December.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (115 nights).

2,400 nights (-24.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,900 nights (+12.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 122,000 bed nights (-6.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 24,000 (+57.7 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 146,000 (+0.6 %) nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 988,000 nights (+2.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 789,000 nights (-0.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

3,300 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.8 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 3.7 nights (-1.1).

Registered accommodation sales in December were 397,000 euro (+1,600).

Registered January-December sales were 8.4 million euro and they increased 85,200 euro from the previous year.
