Registered bed nights increased 139 percent

In April 2021, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (+138.8 %), of which 5,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 138 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 135 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 560 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 139 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Italy (49 nights).

2,600 nights (+307.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,300 nights (+80.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 20,900 registered bed nights (+11.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 620 (-75.8 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 21,500 (+1.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

3,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 250 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.5 percent were domestic, and 1.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (-0.83) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-7.7).

Registered January-April sales were 1.3 million euro and they decreased 156,000 euro from the previous year.
