Registered bed nights increased 24 percent

In September 2019, 14,900 bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (+23.6 %), of which 10,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,200 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 180 percent. In total, bed nights increased 24 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Thailand (2,300 nights).

5,700 nights (+6.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,200 nights (+37.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 99,500 bed nights (-5.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,800 (+71.6 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 119,000 (+2.0 %) nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+3.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 516,000 nights (+11.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

7,000 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 90.5 percent were domestic, and 9.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 6.3 nights (+3.3).

Accommodation sales 876,000 euro

Registered accommodation sales in September were 876,000 euro (+138,000).

Registered January-September sales were 6.5 million euro and they increased 146,000 euro from the previous year.
