Registered bed nights increased five percent

In September 2018, 12,000 bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (+5.5 %), of which 10,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased nine percent and foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, bed nights increased five percent from last year's September.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (290 nights).

5,300 nights (-3.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,700 nights (+13.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 105,000 bed nights (-4.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,500 (-5.8 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 117,000 (-4.4 %) nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 1.7 million bed nights (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-0.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 464,000 nights (-5.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

6,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-0.23).

Registered accommodation sales in September were 738,000 euro (+36,300).

Registered January-September sales were 6.4 million euro and they increased 19,500 euro from the previous year.
