Paid bed nights

8,600 registered bed nights

In March 2019, 8,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (+0.4 %), of which 7,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased less than one percent from last year's March.

4,200 nights (-0.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,500 nights (+1.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 21,100 registered bed nights (-4.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,200 (+12.7 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 24,300 (-2.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (-2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-2.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 567,000 nights (-1.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Central Ostrobothnia, length of stay in March was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-2.4 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.5 nights (+3.9 %) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+17.9 %).

5,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.6 percent were domestic, and 5.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.5 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+1.2).
