In December 2020, 4,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Central Ostrobothnia (-28.0 %), of which 4,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 260 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 70 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 28 percent from last year's December.
1,900 nights (-22.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,700 nights (-31.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 104,000 registered bed nights (-14.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,000 (-75.1 %) for foreigners in Central Ostrobothnia, in total 110,000 (-24.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Central Ostrobothnia, length of stay in December was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.9 nights (+3.4 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (-16.1 %).
2,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.1 percent were domestic, and 2.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Ostrobothnia on average 1.9 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+0.21).
