446,000 registered bed nights

In August 2018, 446,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Dalarna County (-3.8 %), of which 348,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 97,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased four percent from last year's August.

57,300 rooms (-3.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 34,300 rooms (+15.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 3.6 million registered bed nights (+3.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 647,000 (+8.3 %) for foreigners in Dalarna County, in total 4.2 million (+4.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.2 percent

Total of 8.6 million registered bed nights (-0.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-1.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.7 million nights (+1.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Dalarna County out of total registered bed nights was 5.2 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.9 % and foreign bed nights 3.6 %.

Length of stay was 2.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. In Dalarna County, length of stay in August was on average 2.7 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-1.9 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 2.6 nights (-4.0 %) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+6.8 %).

165,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.6 percent were domestic, and 18.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 2.6 nights (-0.17) and foreigners 3.2 nights (-0.13).
