Paid bed nights

364,000 registered bed nights

In April 2019, 364,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Dalarna County (+0.4 %), of which 343,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 20,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 77 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased less than one percent from last year's April.

42,500 rooms (+3.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 29,800 rooms (-4.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 2.2 million registered bed nights (-3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 304,000 (-7.0 %) for foreigners in Dalarna County, in total 2.5 million (-4.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+4.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 953,000 nights (+8.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Dalarna County out of total registered bed nights was 8.5 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 10.4 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Dalarna County, length of stay in April was on average 4.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+1.4 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 4.6 nights (+0.3 %) and foreigners 5.6 nights (-2.0 %).

79,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 4.6 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 5.6 nights (+2.5).
