373,000 registered bed nights

In December 2019, 373,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Dalarna County (-6.3 %), of which 345,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 27,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 23 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased six percent from last year's December.

56,500 rooms (+17.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,100 rooms (-14.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 4.4 million registered bed nights (+1.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 713,000 (-3.2 %) for foreigners in Dalarna County, in total 5.1 million (+0.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 10.8 percent

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+0.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (-2.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Dalarna County out of total registered bed nights was 10.8 % (-0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.8 % and foreign bed nights 3.6 %.

Length of stay was 4.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Dalarna County, length of stay in December was on average 4.2 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-2.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 4.2 nights (-1.0 %) and foreigners 5.8 nights (-7.2 %).

87,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.5 percent were domestic, and 5.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 4.2 nights (-0.36) and foreigners 5.8 nights (-0.22).
