Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 192 percent

In April 2021, 304,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Dalarna County (+192.3 %), of which 297,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 195 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 108 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 192 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (2,400 nights).

34,300 rooms (+185.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 19,800 rooms (+81.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 2.0 million registered bed nights (+13.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 39,100 (-85.5 %) for foreigners in Dalarna County, in total 2.1 million (+0.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 11.9 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 219,000 nights (+91.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Dalarna County out of total registered bed nights was 11.9 % (+3.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.7 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

Length of stay increased 41 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. In Dalarna County, length of stay in April was on average 5.3 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+1.3 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 5.2 nights (+15.1 %) and foreigners 6.1 nights (-49.2 %).

57,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 108 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 5.2 nights (+1.6) and foreigners 6.1 nights (-1.6).
