Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In September 2021, 207,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Dalarna County (+17.6 %), of which 191,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 58 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (5,500 nights).

40,700 rooms (+8.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 29,300 rooms (+16.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 3.6 million registered bed nights (+13.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 184,000 (-42.2 %) for foreigners in Dalarna County, in total 3.8 million (+8.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.1 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Dalarna County out of total registered bed nights was 5.1 % (-0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.7 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Dalarna County, length of stay in September was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-2.5 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 2.4 nights (+4.4 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-63.0 %).

86,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.1 percent were domestic, and 7.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 2.4 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.41).
