Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 107 percent

In December 2021, 1.2 million registered bed nights were recorded in Denmark (+106.7 %), of which 852,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 311,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 75 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 310 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 107 percent from last year's December.

621,000 nights (+137.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 323,000 nights (+99.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 22.7 million registered bed nights (+20.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5.8 million (+21.7 %) for foreigners in Denmark, in total 28.6 million (+20.6 %) registered nights.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Denmark, length of stay in December was on average 2.2 nights (-19.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Denmark on average 2.1 nights (-3.6 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-6.0 %).

537,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 155 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.0 percent were domestic, and 24.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Denmark on average 2.1 nights (-0.5) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.95).
