Registered bed nights increased 30 percent

In September 2021, 22,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Enontekiö (+29.5 %), of which 22,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 770 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 39 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 30 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (230 nights).

22,100 nights (+26.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 820 nights (+258.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 112,000 registered bed nights (+48.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,600 (-85.0 %) for foreigners in Enontekiö, in total 117,000 (+9.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+21.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 204,000 nights (+121.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Enontekiö out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

10,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 33 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.0 percent were domestic, and 5.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Enontekiö on average 2.2 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.75).
