Enontekiö: Tourism in a nutshell
15,200 registered bed nights
In March 2019, 15,200 bed nights were recorded in Enontekiö (-20.7 %), of which 8,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 31 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 21 percent from last year's March.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (1,600 nights).
14,200 nights (-24.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,000 nights (+115.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 12,500 bed nights (+3.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,400 (-12.4 %) for foreigners in Enontekiö, in total 31,900 (-6.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.9 million bed nights (-2.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 566,000 nights (-1.4 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Enontekiö out of total bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 53.5 percent were domestic, and 46.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Enontekiö on average 2.9 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-0.33).

Total accommodation sales in March were 693,000 euro (-41,300). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 7.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 644,000 euro (-51,600) and Airbnb and HomeAway sales 49,800 euro (+10,400).
Total January-March sales were 1.4 million euro and they decreased 94,300 euro from the previous year.
