Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In February 2019, 10,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Enontekiö (+10.7 %), of which 3,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 65 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's February.

9,700 nights (+12.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 350 nights (-17.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 3,900 registered bed nights (+56.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,800 (+2.1 %) for foreigners in Enontekiö, in total 16,700 (+11.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (+2.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+3.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 604,000 nights (+0.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Enontekiö out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Enontekiö, length of stay in February was on average 2.9 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.3 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Enontekiö on average 2.8 nights (+26.0 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-9.1 %).

3,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 31.8 percent were domestic, and 68.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Enontekiö on average 2.8 nights (+0.6) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-0.32).
