Registered bed nights increased 48 percent

In December 2021, 12,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Eskilstuna (+48.5 %), of which 11,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 42 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 199 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 48 percent from last year's December.

2,900 rooms (+30.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,000 rooms (+55.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 245,000 registered bed nights (+17.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,800 (+26.7 %) for foreigners in Eskilstuna, in total 263,000 (+18.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Eskilstuna out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

8,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Eskilstuna on average 1.5 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.38).
