Registered bed nights increased 125 percent (April)

In April 2021, 21,000 bed nights were recorded in Espoo (+124.6 %), of which 14,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 92 percent and foreign bed nights increased 260 percent. In total, bed nights increased 125 percent from last year's April.

4,100 nights (+268.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,900 nights (+104.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 53,400 bed nights (-11.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,700 (-39.2 %) for foreigners in Espoo, in total 73,000 (-21.4 %) nights.

Market share 2.7 percent (April)

Total of 779,000 bed nights (+309.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 726,000 nights (+319.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 52,500 nights (+212.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Espoo out of total bed nights was 2.7 % (-2.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.0 % and foreign bed nights 12.4 %.

4,100 tourists arrived to accommodation (April)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 230 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 88.8 percent were domestic, and 11.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Espoo on average 4.0 nights (-3.0) and foreigners 14 nights (+2.4).

63,900 air travelers (Helsinki)

The airport received a total of 63,900 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 230 percent. 14,200 travelers were transferring planes (+154.9 %) and 49,800 were local passengers (+254.9 %).

Of local passengers, 75.3 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 24.7 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 91.1 %.

In addition, there were 45,900 passengers departing the airport (+307.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 110,000 (+256.0 %).
