Registered bed nights increased 88 percent (November)

In November 2021, 38,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Espoo (+87.9 %), of which 27,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 83 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 102 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 88 percent from last year's November.

12,300 nights (+86.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 26,000 nights (+88.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 248,000 registered bed nights (+44.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 87,100 (+34.7 %) for foreigners in Espoo, in total 335,000 (+41.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.8 percent (November)

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+70.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+52.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 279,000 nights (+221.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Espoo out of total registered bed nights was 2.8 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 4.0 %.

13,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (November)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 122 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.5 percent were domestic, and 15.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Espoo on average 2.4 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 5.5 nights (-5.4).

409,000 air travelers (Helsinki)

The airport received a total of 409,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 470 percent. 143,000 travelers were transferring planes (+1,110.6 %) and 266,000 were local passengers (+346.9 %).

Of local passengers, 80.9 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 19.1 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 76.8 %.

In addition, there were 279,000 passengers departing the airport (+342.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 688,000 (+412.0 %).
