Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In December 2018, 23,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Falkenberg (+14.4 %), of which 21,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's December.

5,500 rooms (+136.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (-50.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 716,000 registered bed nights (+9.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 77,300 (+1.3 %) for foreigners in Falkenberg, in total 793,000 (+8.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Falkenberg out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. In Falkenberg, length of stay in December was on average 2.9 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falkenberg on average 3.0 nights (-1.3 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-1.7 %).

7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.6 percent were domestic, and 9.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falkenberg on average 3.0 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.81).
