Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In August 2019, 147,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Falkenberg (+18.5 %), of which 128,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 18,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's August.

10,600 rooms (+52.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,600 rooms (-30.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 615,000 registered bed nights (+8.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 74,100 (+20.6 %) for foreigners in Falkenberg, in total 689,000 (+9.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.7 percent

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Falkenberg out of total registered bed nights was 1.7 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Falkenberg, length of stay in August was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falkenberg on average 2.7 nights (+2.1 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+1.6 %).

57,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.9 percent were domestic, and 17.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falkenberg on average 2.7 nights (+0.27) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.09).
