Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In March 2023, 31,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Falun (+1.7 %), of which 27,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (800 nights).

7,600 rooms (+14.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,000 rooms (-2.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 77,800 registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,600 (+13.2 %) for foreigners in Falun, in total 85,400 (+5.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Falun out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Falun, length of stay in March was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falun on average 2.1 nights (-13.4 %) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+0.5 %).

14,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.6 percent were domestic, and 6.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falun on average 2.1 nights (-0.43) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+0.47).
