Registered bed nights increased 48 percent

In December 2021, 15,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Falun (+47.7 %), of which 15,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 840 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 43 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 210 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 48 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (167 nights).

3,600 rooms (+99.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,500 rooms (+73.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 259,000 registered bed nights (+5.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,100 (+1.2 %) for foreigners in Falun, in total 276,000 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Falun out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

8,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.0 percent were domestic, and 4.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falun on average 1.9 nights (-0.45) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.47).
