Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In October 2019, 21,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Falun (+6.0 %), of which 20,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (172 nights).

4,500 rooms (+41.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,300 rooms (+14.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 280,000 registered bed nights (+2.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 40,200 (+25.4 %) for foreigners in Falun, in total 320,000 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Falun out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Falun, length of stay in October was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falun on average 2.0 nights (+3.2 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-9.2 %).

10,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Falun on average 2.0 nights (+0.08) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.21).
