In December 2020, 766,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Finland (-56.9 %), of which 702,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 64,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 57 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (8,500 nights).
532,000 nights (-57.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 234,000 nights (-54.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 12.0 million registered bed nights (-25.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2.3 million (-67.5 %) for foreigners in Finland, in total 14.3 million (-38.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Finland, length of stay in December was on average 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Finland on average 2.3 nights (+6.3 %) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+19.3 %).
328,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 63 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.7 percent were domestic, and 6.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Finland on average 2.3 nights (+0.45) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.81).

The airport received a total of 98,100 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 91 percent.
Of local passengers, 52.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 47.8 %.
In addition, there were 86,500 passengers departing the airport (-89.0 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 185,000 (-90.3 %).

There were 142,000 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port decreased 79 percent. The number of departing passengers was 160,000 (-76.8 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (83,100 arrivals).

Accommodation sales 61.1 million euro
Total accommodation sales in December were 61.1 million euro (-74.2 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 34.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 40.3 million euro (-71.3 million) and non-registered sales 20.7 million euro (-3.0 million).
Total January-December sales were 1.0 billion euro and they decreased 582.0 million euro from the previous year.
