17,500 registered bed nights

In August 2022, 17,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Fosen Region (-9.7 %), of which 9,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 27 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's August.

3,200 nights (-24.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (-18.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 50,600 registered bed nights (-4.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 35,000 (+172.7 %) for foreigners in Fosen Region, in total 85,600 (+30.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Fosen Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

5,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 24 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.5 percent were domestic, and 26.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Fosen Region on average 2.1 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 5.4 nights (+0.54).
