Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In October 2020, 6,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Fosen Region (+27.0 %), of which 5,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 94 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's October.

1,400 nights (+59.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,500 nights (-6.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 65,400 registered bed nights (+20.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,500 (-38.1 %) for foreigners in Fosen Region, in total 77,900 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (-32.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (-22.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 139,000 nights (-70.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Fosen Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay increased 27 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 27 percent compared to earlier year. In Fosen Region, length of stay in October was on average 2.8 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (+14.4 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Fosen Region on average 2.4 nights (+15.3 %) and foreigners 7.8 nights (+71.8 %).

2,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.1 percent were domestic, and 5.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Fosen Region on average 2.4 nights (+0.39) and foreigners 7.8 nights (+3.4).
