Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In October 2021, 7,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Fosen Region (+10.9 %), of which 6,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased four percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's October.

2,100 nights (+45.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,600 nights (+4.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 66,100 registered bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,100 (+69.1 %) for foreigners in Fosen Region, in total 87,200 (+11.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+57.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (+50.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 306,000 nights (+120.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Fosen Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Fosen Region, length of stay in October was on average 2.3 nights and in Norway 1.9 nights (-5.9 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Fosen Region on average 2.1 nights (-0.4 %) and foreigners 4.9 nights (-30.5 %).

3,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.6 percent were domestic, and 7.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Fosen Region on average 2.1 nights (-0.33) and foreigners 4.9 nights (-2.9).
