Oulu: Tourism in a nutshell
27,600 registered bed nights (March)
In March 2021, 27,600 bed nights were recorded in Oulu (+0.2 %), of which 26,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 790 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased eight percent and foreign bed nights decreased 71 percent. In total, bed nights increased less than one percent from last year's March.
16,900 nights (+7.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,700 nights (-8.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 84,200 bed nights (-20.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,800 (-75.9 %) for foreigners in Oulu, in total 89,000 (-29.1 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.3 percent were domestic, and 2.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oulu on average 1.6 nights (0.0) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.32).

The airport received a total of 4,800 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 750 percent.
