10,100 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 10,100 bed nights were recorded in Gällivare (-29.9 %), of which 8,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 33 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 14 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 30 percent from last year's March.

2,600 rooms (+0.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,200 rooms (-39.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 23,800 bed nights (-24.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,700 (+18.5 %) for foreigners in Gällivare, in total 30,400 (-17.6 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gällivare out of total bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

3,900 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 28 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 79.2 percent were domestic, and 20.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gällivare on average 2.6 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-0.56).
