Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 37 percent

In February 2022, 10,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Gällivare (+36.9 %), of which 8,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 290 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 37 percent from last year's February.

1,400 rooms (+95.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,000 rooms (+41.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 16,500 registered bed nights (+18.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,100 (+252.7 %) for foreigners in Gällivare, in total 19,700 (+32.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+10.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (-3.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 571,000 nights (+159.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gällivare out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 3.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Gällivare, length of stay in February was on average 3.9 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-34.6 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gällivare on average 3.6 nights (-22.7 %) and foreigners 6.0 nights (+25.8 %).

2,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 71 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.0 percent were domestic, and 12.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gällivare on average 3.6 nights (-1.2) and foreigners 6.0 nights (+0.82).
