Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 39 percent

In June 2022, 19,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Gällivare (+38.9 %), of which 16,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 200 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 39 percent from last year's June.

1,300 rooms (+14.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,500 rooms (+32.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 70,600 registered bed nights (+26.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,000 (+214.0 %) for foreigners in Gällivare, in total 80,600 (+36.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 6.9 million registered bed nights (+39.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.2 million nights (+17.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+259.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gällivare out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 55 percent compared to earlier year. In Gällivare, length of stay in June was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-13.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gällivare on average 3.0 nights (-24.1 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-45.6 %).

7,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 210 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 70.3 percent were domestic, and 29.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gällivare on average 3.0 nights (-2.5) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-6.8).
