Registered bed nights increased 121 percent

In April 2021, 19,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (+120.8 %), of which 18,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 118 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 174 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 121 percent from last year's April.

4,500 rooms (+98.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,300 rooms (+106.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 66,400 registered bed nights (-15.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,200 (+6.6 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 71,600 (-13.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

11,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 147 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 1.7 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.11).
