Registered bed nights increased 48 percent

In May 2022, 34,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (+47.7 %), of which 31,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 47 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 62 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 48 percent from last year's May.

8,800 rooms (+101.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 13,500 rooms (+40.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 128,000 registered bed nights (+45.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,000 (+99.3 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 142,000 (+49.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

21,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 67 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.2 percent were domestic, and 7.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 1.6 nights (-0.19) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.56).
