17,100 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 17,100 bed nights were recorded in Gävle (-38.1 %), of which 16,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 36 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 57 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 38 percent from last year's March.

4,100 rooms (-39.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,900 rooms (-36.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 70,000 bed nights (-5.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,400 (-43.5 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 74,500 (-8.7 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

10,300 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 44 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 94.4 percent were domestic, and 5.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 1.7 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.14).
