27,400 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 27,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (-2.7 %), of which 25,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 32 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (490 nights).

6,700 rooms (+1.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,800 rooms (-12.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 242,000 registered bed nights (-11.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,100 (-67.5 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 254,000 (-18.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

15,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.4 percent were domestic, and 5.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 1.7 nights (+0.22) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.0).
