Registered bed nights increased 75 percent

In December 2021, 25,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (+74.7 %), of which 23,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 77 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 55 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 75 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (700 nights).

6,900 rooms (+98.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,000 rooms (+59.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 359,000 registered bed nights (+19.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 34,100 (+98.7 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 394,000 (+24.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

17,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 115 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.0 percent were domestic, and 8.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 1.5 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.87).
