28,100 registered bed nights

In September 2019, 28,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (-5.4 %), of which 25,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 14 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's September.

6,500 rooms (-2.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 13,400 rooms (-5.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 275,000 registered bed nights (+4.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 37,300 (+31.8 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 312,000 (+6.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. In Gävle, length of stay in September was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 1.6 nights (+1.1 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+34.3 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.2 percent were domestic, and 6.8 percent were from foreign countries.
