15,100 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 15,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (-51.4 %), of which 14,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 570 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 49 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 76 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's May.

3,400 rooms (-51.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,500 rooms (-60.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 92,800 registered bed nights (-24.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,400 (-53.6 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 98,300 (-26.6 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased 21 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. In Gävle, length of stay in May was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 2.1 nights (+8.7 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-7.3 %).

7,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 60 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.2 percent were domestic, and 2.8 percent were from foreign countries.
