Paid bed nights

61,400 registered bed nights

In July 2020, 61,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävle (-6.7 %), of which 59,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 86 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's July.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (196 nights).

15,100 rooms (+29.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,100 rooms (-51.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 178,000 registered bed nights (-15.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,000 (-71.2 %) for foreigners in Gävle, in total 186,000 (-22.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 9.4 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 8.8 million nights (-5.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 551,000 nights (-86.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävle out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Gävle, length of stay in July was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-0.2 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 2.1 nights (+6.2 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-26.7 %).

29,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.2 percent were domestic, and 2.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävle on average 2.1 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-2.0).
