Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In July 2019, 245,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävleborg County (+13.2 %), of which 205,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 40,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 37 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's July.

33,000 rooms (+31.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 24,300 rooms (+23.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 761,000 registered bed nights (+6.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 86,100 (+25.0 %) for foreigners in Gävleborg County, in total 847,000 (+8.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.8 percent

Total of 13.5 million registered bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 9.3 million nights (+4.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 4.2 million nights (+5.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävleborg County out of total registered bed nights was 1.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Gävleborg County, length of stay in July was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+0.3 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 2.2 nights (+4.0 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+10.9 %).

109,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.4 percent were domestic, and 13.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 2.2 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+0.51).
