30,200 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 30,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävleborg County (-51.4 %), of which 28,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 51 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's April.

4,500 rooms (-60.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,400 rooms (-54.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 312,000 registered bed nights (-13.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,200 (-14.9 %) for foreigners in Gävleborg County, in total 329,000 (-13.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävleborg County out of total registered bed nights was 2.4 % (+0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.7 %.

Length of stay increased 23 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. In Gävleborg County, length of stay in April was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 2.3 nights (+5.5 %) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+36.0 %).

12,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 2.3 nights (+0.4) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+2.2).
