80,600 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 80,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävleborg County (-14.1 %), of which 76,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 68 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 14 percent from last year's September.

16,200 rooms (-11.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,600 rooms (-22.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 924,000 registered bed nights (-5.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 39,800 (-68.9 %) for foreigners in Gävleborg County, in total 964,000 (-12.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-20.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (-62.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävleborg County out of total registered bed nights was 2.6 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.8 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Gävleborg County, length of stay in September was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+4.9 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 1.9 nights (+3.3 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+10.2 %).

41,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.0 percent were domestic, and 4.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 1.9 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 2.7 nights (-1.9).
