76,700 registered bed nights

In October 2020, 76,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Gävleborg County (-16.6 %), of which 72,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 69 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 17 percent from last year's October.

19,300 rooms (+9.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 23,200 rooms (-28.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 997,000 registered bed nights (-5.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 43,800 (-68.9 %) for foreigners in Gävleborg County, in total 1.0 million (-13.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-23.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-15.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 450,000 nights (-51.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gävleborg County out of total registered bed nights was 2.5 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Gävleborg County, length of stay in October was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+7.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 1.9 nights (+2.4 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+3.1 %).

40,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.7 percent were domestic, and 4.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gävleborg County on average 1.9 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-2.7).
