Gjøvik Region: Tourism in a nutshell

Registered bed nights increased 14 percent
In August 2022, 37,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Gjøvik Region (+14.1 %), of which 30,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 135 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's August.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,000 nights).
6,100 nights (+76.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,500 nights (+9.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 157,000 registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,000 (+236.9 %) for foreigners in Gjøvik Region, in total 185,000 (+17.1 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.1 percent were domestic, and 23.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 2.3 nights (-0.43) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.28).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 10.9 million crowns (+2.0 million).
Registered January-August sales were 61.5 million crowns and they increased 23.3 million crowns from the previous year.
