12,200 registered bed nights

In March 2023, 12,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Gjøvik Region (-2.3 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 31 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's March.

2,100 nights (+22.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,800 nights (-4.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 31,100 registered bed nights (+32.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (-25.3 %) for foreigners in Gjøvik Region, in total 34,600 (+22.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+0.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 554,000 nights (+9.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gjøvik Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 25 percent compared to earlier year. In Gjøvik Region, length of stay in March was on average 1.8 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-6.1 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 1.7 nights (-25.6 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-38.4 %).

6,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.3 percent were domestic, and 8.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 1.7 nights (-0.67) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.06).
