Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 184 percent

In April 2021, 8,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Gjøvik Region (+184.0 %), of which 8,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 177 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 570 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 184 percent from last year's April.

570 nights (+607.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,300 nights (+41.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 24,300 registered bed nights (-14.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,400 (-61.9 %) for foreigners in Gjøvik Region, in total 25,700 (-19.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 883,000 registered bed nights (+166.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 788,000 nights (+184.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 94,300 nights (+75.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gjøvik Region out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 41 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. In Gjøvik Region, length of stay in April was on average 3.6 nights and in Norway 2.8 nights (-3.0 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 3.6 nights (+63.8 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+18.1 %).

2,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 101 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.9 percent were domestic, and 6.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 3.6 nights (+0.98) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+1.8).
