Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 120 percent

In December 2021, 5,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Gjøvik Region (+120.3 %), of which 4,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 780 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 110 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 220 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 120 percent from last year's December.

1,100 nights (+113.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,800 nights (+65.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 201,000 registered bed nights (+55.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,700 (+82.3 %) for foreigners in Gjøvik Region, in total 215,000 (+56.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (+49.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 980,000 nights (+31.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 271,000 nights (+196.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gjøvik Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Gjøvik Region, length of stay in December was on average 1.9 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (-10.3 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 1.8 nights (+0.8 %) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+2.7 %).

3,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 108 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.4 percent were domestic, and 8.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 1.8 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.51).
