Registered bed nights increased 124 percent

In April 2021, 122,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Gothenburg (+123.7 %), of which 105,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 119 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 154 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 124 percent from last year's April.

40,400 rooms (+108.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 32,500 rooms (+107.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 353,000 registered bed nights (-35.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 49,800 (-71.2 %) for foreigners in Gothenburg, in total 403,000 (-44.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.8 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gothenburg out of total registered bed nights was 4.8 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.5 % and foreign bed nights 7.6 %.

69,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 128 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.5 percent were domestic, and 12.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gothenburg on average 1.7 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.22).

24,900 air travelers

The airport received a total of 24,900 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 1,200 percent.

Of local passengers, 77.6 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 22.4 %.

In addition, there were 22,400 passengers departing the airport (+2,498.5 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 47,300 (+1,575.4 %).

Registered accommodation sales in April were 66.2 million SEK (+37.3 million).

Registered January-April sales were 215.9 million SEK and they decreased 308.0 million euro from the previous year.
