116,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 116,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Göteborg (-71.8 %), of which 105,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 62 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 72 percent from last year's June.

39,600 rooms (-64.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 23,900 rooms (-79.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 719,000 registered bed nights (-47.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 194,000 (-65.2 %) for foreigners in Göteborg, in total 913,000 (-52.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.2 percent

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Göteborg out of total registered bed nights was 3.2 % (-2.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.1 % and foreign bed nights 4.4 %.

65,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 72 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Göteborg on average 1.8 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.28).

8,200 air travelers

The airport received a total of 8,200 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 97 percent.

Of local passengers, 70.6 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 29.4 %.

In addition, there were 9,900 passengers departing the airport (-97.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 18,100 (-97.2 %).

Registered accommodation sales in June were 58.9 million SEK (-243.2 million).

Registered January-June sales were 621.2 million SEK and they decreased 802.0 million euro from the previous year.
