Registered bed nights increased eight percent
In February 2020, 264,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Gothenburg (+8.3 %), of which 195,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 69,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's February.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (12,600 nights).
82,000 rooms (+15.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 88,000 rooms (-2.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 403,000 registered bed nights (+12.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 142,000 (+1.3 %) for foreigners in Gothenburg, in total 545,000 (+9.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Gothenburg, length of stay in February was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gothenburg on average 1.5 nights (-3.5 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-2.5 %).
168,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.5 percent were domestic, and 22.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gothenburg on average 1.5 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.03).

211,000 air travelers
The airport received a total of 211,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased four percent.
Of local passengers, 81.8 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 18.2 %.
In addition, there were 210,000 passengers departing the airport (-4.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 420,000 (-4.1 %).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 184.4 million crowns (+24.1 million).
Registered January-February sales were 392.5 million crowns and they increased 59.7 million crowns from the previous year.
