Registered bed nights increased 67 percent
In January 2022, 133,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Gothenburg (+67.0 %), of which 109,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 55 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 150 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 67 percent from last year's January.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (4,300 nights).
47,000 rooms (+61.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 34,100 rooms (+62.6 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Gothenburg, length of stay in January was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-36.1 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 86 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.9 percent were domestic, and 17.1 percent were from foreign countries.
