Registered bed nights increased one percent

In December 2018, 329,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Gothenburg (+1.0 %), of which 240,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 88,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (19,700 nights).

Between January and December, 3.7 million registered bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.5 million (+1.5 %) for foreigners in Greater Gothenburg, in total 5.2 million (+1.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Gothenburg out of total registered bed nights was 9.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 9.0 % and foreign bed nights 11.3 %.
