Registered bed nights increased 88 percent

In August 2021, 585,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Gothenburg (+88.0 %), of which 480,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 104,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 74 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 200 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 88 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (24,900 nights).

Between January and August, 2.1 million registered bed nights (+26.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 339,000 (+18.8 %) for foreigners in Greater Gothenburg, in total 2.4 million (+25.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Gothenburg out of total registered bed nights was 6.9 % (+1.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.0 % and foreign bed nights 6.5 %.
