Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In October 2018, 232,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Malmö (+4.9 %), of which 166,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 66,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (11,000 nights).

Between January and October, 1.8 million registered bed nights (+1.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 801,000 (+10.4 %) for foreigners in Greater Malmö, in total 2.6 million (+4.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.9 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+6.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+5.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 956,000 nights (+9.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Malmö out of total registered bed nights was 5.9 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.6 % and foreign bed nights 7.0 %.
