Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In December 2018, 179,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Malmö (+7.1 %), of which 126,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 52,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (11,300 nights).

Between January and December, 2.1 million registered bed nights (+1.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 912,000 (+11.0 %) for foreigners in Greater Malmö, in total 3.0 million (+4.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.2 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Malmö out of total registered bed nights was 5.2 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.8 % and foreign bed nights 6.7 %.
