Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In April 2019, 224,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Malmö (+4.1 %), of which 160,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 64,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (12,400 nights).

Between January and April, 561,000 registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 214,000 (+2.8 %) for foreigners in Greater Malmö, in total 775,000 (+2.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.3 percent

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+4.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 953,000 nights (+8.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Malmö out of total registered bed nights was 5.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.8 % and foreign bed nights 6.8 %.
