In May 2019, 280,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Malmö (-1.2 %), of which 201,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 79,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's May.

Between January and May, 762,000 registered bed nights (+1.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 293,000 (+0.3 %) for foreigners in Greater Malmö, in total 1.1 million (+1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.3 million registered bed nights (+3.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.1 million nights (+6.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.3 million nights (-5.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Malmö out of total registered bed nights was 5.3 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.9 % and foreign bed nights 6.3 %.
