Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In September 2019, 263,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Malmö (+5.5 %), of which 181,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 82,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (15,500 nights).

Between January and September, 1.8 million registered bed nights (+6.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 821,000 (+11.8 %) for foreigners in Greater Malmö, in total 2.6 million (+8.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Malmö out of total registered bed nights was 5.8 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.4 % and foreign bed nights 7.1 %.
