Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In August 2018, 1.7 million registered bed nights were recorded in Greater Stockholm (+5.5 %), of which 928,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 751,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's August.

Between January and August, 6.0 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4.0 million (+8.8 %) for foreigners in Greater Stockholm, in total 9.9 million (+4.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 19.6 percent

Total of 8.6 million registered bed nights (-0.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-1.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.7 million nights (+1.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Greater Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 19.6 % (+1.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 15.8 % and foreign bed nights 27.8 %.
