Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In January 2018, 65,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Halland County (+6.2 %), of which 59,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (1,500 nights).

12,200 rooms (-17.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 21,000 rooms (+26.4 %) by business visitors.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (+6.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 773,000 nights (+9.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Halland County, length of stay in January was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+2.2 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 1.8 nights and foreigners 2.3 nights .

36,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.
